The House of Fraser (Ireland) Retirement Balance Plan was established in 2005 for House of Fraser staff working in the Dundrum store up until October 2018. The Plan was run by a corporate trustee called House of Fraser (Ireland) Pension Trust Limited, which had a board of directors known as the Trustees. The Ireland Plan was always completely separate from the Pension Scheme in the UK.
The Trustees have now formally wound up the Ireland Plan. If you were a member of the Ireland Plan, you should have received a number of letters regarding your benefits and how these have been secured.
If you were receiving a pension from the Plan, you will have been advised that this is now being paid by New Ireland Assurance. If you have any questions or need to update your personal details, you should contact them directly using the contact details below:
If you were a member who was not yet receiving your pension from the Plan, you should have received a letter in March 2020 confirming where your benefits have transferred. If you did not take immediate benefits (for over 50s) or did not opt to transfer to an alternative pension provider from the default option detailed in the correspondence sent to you, then your benefits will have been transferred to a Personal Retirement Bond with Irish Life with your Transfer Value being invested in the Empower Personal Lifestyle Strategy Fund. If you have any questions or need to update your personal details, you should contact your new provider directly. Irish Life’s contact details are listed below:
If you were a member and did not received any letters from the Trustees during 2019, your benefits would have been transferred in February 2020 to a Personal Retirement Bond with Irish Life with your Transfer Value being invested in the Empower Personal Lifestyle Strategy Fund. Please contact Irish Life directly using the details set out earlier.
